After Using This LED Mask, My Skin Has Never Looked Better (2025)

I have a beauty tool obsession. There I said. It first started with the NuFace Mini+—the skin-toning results are magical. Next, I tried the Gwyneth Paltrow-loved Jillian Dempsey Gold Bar (in case you're wondering, the plumping effect is beyond!). Then, I got my hands on the newly-launched Ziip Halo, an ultra-lightweight microcurrent device that is ridiculously easy to use and lifts and tightens cheekbones in 4 minutes flat. And now, I recently ventured into at-home red light therapy territory, starting with the internet-viral Omnilux Contour Face Mask.

As a quick refresher: Red light therapy is a treatment that harnesses the powers of LED light to help diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles, reduce redness and inflammation, and boost collagen production, which as a result, leaves your skin with a youthful-looking and oh-so-glowy appearance. The Omnilux is an FDA-cleared, at-home device that uses medical-grade wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to combat those said signs of aging and improve elasticity and skin tone.

I've tried in-office red light therapy a few times, but this was my first foray into at-home devices, and the Omnilux is the perfect entry level treatment for newbies like myself. It's completely painless and super simple to use since it's already pre-programmed with a 10-minute treatment. All you have to do is to charge the accompanying controller, attach it to the device, and click the button. The mask is also surprisingly comfortable to wear thanks to its soft, flexible design that conforms to the contours of your face (hence the name) and the velcro straps for an adjustable fit. It's not time consuming in the least, and I like how I can watch TV, answer emails, or get lost on TikTok while wearing it.

Specs aside, I can confidently say the Omnilux works. As the brand recommends, I did about four to five treatments a week for a month straight at first and definitely saw minor, yet noticeable differences to my skin texture. Not to toot my own horn, I have pretty great skin to begin with, but I could tell it looked more evened out, smoother, and those itty-bitty fine lines that I have on my forehead became less visible. I'm not going to lie, I was skeptical about trying the whole thing. In the beginning, I didn't think I was seeing results, but then I went on a 10-day European jaunt and returned with skin that clearly had been through the wringer, I popped that bad boy on my face three days in a row and was completely convinced by the difference. The only bone I have to pick with Omnilux is how you have to readjust the velcro every time you place the mask on your face—but that's small potatoes compared to the outcome!

Other notable aspects: the flexible panel is easily packable and can fit into small spaces without taking up much room. There's even a little baggy to place it in. The mask is also sold with international adapters should you want to travel with it.

Now I'm going to be honest: This mask makes you look silly. I'm talking cyborg-level silly. You're going to absolutely look like you belong in the Avengers, and if you share a space with someone, you're most definitely going to get quizzical looks from housemates. But just go with it and let the device do its thing. The Omnilux is 100% going to become a mainstay in your routine after you see what it can do to your skin.
