Quick Links
Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord has lots of systems for players to juggle as they maintain their party and growing clan. To quickly get renown and grow your clan, players will want to find their favorite kingdom and join to start gaining and using influence.
Influence is a key resource that will be earned as players make a name for themselves, and will be used to make just about all of the decisions in a kingdom. After being a mercenary, players can be made a Vassal, where they will be a major name in a kingdom and can use influence in many ways to affect the future of their new kingdom.

Taking lords prisoner gives you the option of executing them in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord; but what happens if you do?
The most straightforward way of earning influence is by winning battles. The more enemies killed, the more influence earned, with it being much higher margins than morale. Joining a kingdom will let you participate in much larger battles during wars. Leading an army will give you all the influence earned from that army in every battle, even if most of the soldiers in it aren't completely yours.
The other method for earning influence is by donating troops to the garrison of the city or castle owned by your kingdom. The amount of influence given will be based on the tier of unit you give, but this method can be more costly than simply defeating enemies. While calling an army will cost a lot of influence, leading that army for a few days to attack other armies and lay siege to enemy castles will quickly earn back your influence and more.

What To Use Influence For In Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord
Influence can fully be used after becoming a Vassal of a kingdom, as you'll be able to own fiefs, vote, and lead armies. There are not situations that will force you to use influence as you can always abstain from voting, letting you build up influence for later plans. The various uses for influence are:
Use Of Influence | Explanation |
---|---|
Call An Army | Select lords from your kingdom to call into your army, with the influence cost of each party being determined by your relationship score with that lord. |
Increase Army Cohesion | As time goes on, the army Cohesion will decrease, with the army breaking up once it hits zero. Adding Army Cohesion lets you keep your army together for longer. |
Vote On Fiefs | Whenever a fief is taken in war, a few lords will be selected as the new owner. The amount of influence used in your vote determines how much of an impact it has on the outcome. |
Vote On Policies | Lords can use influence to propose or abolish policies, while also getting the chance to vote when other lords choose to do the first two options. |
Declare War Or Peace | War must be officially declared, and will often be nearly impossible unless tensions are already high. The percentage chance of success can be seen right above the button to propose war or peace and should be considered before spending the influence. |
