The Last Chance - Walkthrough

The Last Chance is the eighth Campaign mission of Destiny 2's The Witch Queen expansion. After completing the previous mission The Cunning, you'll unlock The Last Chance after heading back to Witch's Echo. This mission can be located in the Flourescent Canal area of the Throne World destination. Simply head to the marked location on your map and interact with the banner to begin. Both Standard and Legendary difficulties have a recommended Power level of 1490, although Legendary offers better rewards.

You'll begin the mission outside Savathûn's fortress walls with the goal of breaching the Apothecary Wing. Head straight and follow the ledge around the circular building up ahead. Follow the path and platform your way around the walls until you find the door leading inside.

Continue into the fortress and proceed down the stairs until you reach the Alluring Curtain. Continue platforming towards the destination marker and defeat the enemies up ahead. One enemy in particular, the Lucent Swordbearer, will drop a Relic Sword upon death. Pick it up and use it to break the formation in the center of the room. This will free a Deepsight orb that you can use to reveal the path forward.

The Relic Sword will be the main mechanic for this mission that you'll be interacting with. In addition to breaking walls and various formations, you can use it to attack enemies - both up-close and with its ranged ability.

After using the Deepsight orb, make your way up the newly revealed platforms outside and continue platforming over to the next area, defeating the enemies as you go. Another Lucent Swordbearer will spawn in. Grab the Relic Sword and use it to break another formation to reveal a Deepsight orb.

Platform upwards and across to the next building. Head inside and make your way up the staircase, dispatching enemies as you go. After taking care of the Hive enemies and Shrieker, grab the Relic Sword and use it to clear a formation blocking the doorway to the right.

Head through the doorway and drop down into the courtyard below. There's a Rally Banner point you can use to refill ammo and abilities before starting the next fight, if needed. Clear out the enemies, grab the Relic Sword, and break open the formation blocking the wall near the two staircases.

Proceed inside and clear out the enemies waiting for you. Just up the stairs, you'll have more enemies and a Lightbearer Acolyte to deal with. clearing the room, grab the reward chest loot and proceed down the stairs and through the waterfall to the next area.

Drop down into the room below and proceed through the doorway on the left. You'll arrive on the exterior of the Apothecary. Head up the stairs to the right and you'll find another Rally Banner point to use. When you're ready, head forward and the enemies will spawn in.

For this encounter, there are two structures you need to break - one on both side of the large central staircase around the corner. You only need to defeat one of the Lucent Swordbearers as you can use the same sword to break both locks, hidden below the two outer staircase structures.

Once both locks have been successfully broken, make your way up the central staircase and take care of the enemies around the area - including a Blistered Wizard and Blistered Ogre. Head up the stairs after the fight to grab the reward chest.

Proceed through the doorway and you'll find yourself on the interior of the Apothecary Wing. This room is very vertical and you'll be fighting your way up the ramps as you go. Proceed up the ramp to the right and begin your trek upwards.

Further upwards, you'll reach a formation that needs to be broken. Head into the doorway on the right where you'll face another couple waves of Hive enemies. Near the end, you'll be able to claim the Relic Sword. Head back out to the main Apothecary halls and break the formation to reveal a Deepsight orb.

Use the Deepsight orb to reveal platforms that you can use to reach the next level. Continue inside and there will be more enemies to fight. Another Lucent Swordbearer will be present, as well. Kill it, grab the Relic Sword, and break the formation at the front of the room to open a pathway into the next room.

Just inside, clear out the enemies and use the Deepsight orb that will reveal more platforms in the main hall area that you can use to climb further upwards.

Proceed into the creepy pink tunnel, use the Deepsight orb at the end, and make your way further up the Apothecary tower. At the top, you'll find a Rally Banner point that you can use to refill ammo and abilities. Head inside the room once you're ready. To the right, you'll find a group of hive enemies performing a ritual. Once defeated, Savathûn's Right Hand will spawn in.

Take her health bar down by one-third and she'll become invincible and flee the room, leaving more enemies for you to deal with. One of the enemies will drop a Relic Sword for you that you can use to break the formation on the wall nearby.

Proceed into the next chamber and kill the two Knights. Once they go down, Savathûn's Right Hand will reemerge. Drop her health bar down another third and eliminate the enemies that arrive after she flees the room again.

Use the Relic Sword to break the formation and head into the final room. Here, you'll find a Lightbearer Knight waiting at the end. Eliminate it and Savathûn's Right Hand will appear one last time with another group of enemies. Clear them all out, grab the reward chest, and pick up the crystal shard upon the altar to complete this mission.
